Sunflower 

Sunflower
Stretching long legs –
Spreading
In dry deserts
Alongside highways –
Vagabond –
Hobo 
Of summer
Blooming
Where nothing
Grows but sand –
No invitation
To make wilderness home –
See
Grace bloom – Sunflower!

I will never forget the first time I saw a massive field of sunflowers in Italy all facing the sun with their happy faces. I loved this Sam! Congratulations on your win! They have started to grow wild in the western US - beside roads, highways and country roads. No one cares for them, waters them or feeds them and they thrive. They are truly remakable!
