Sun Penetrates

Sun penetrates icicles drip Morn's sun melts sandy snow Moored to the shore with ropes sturdy Trapped in a boat no go Icicles drop cold liquid like tears Shed for life's soon parting What will the eaves do for diamonds When gems have departed

The cold can make us miserable, sometimes. Though, I do feel a sadness when the beautiful snow begins to melt away. Very nice imagery in this poem. Well done, Sara!...Thank you very much for the kind comments. I always appreciate your visits.

P.S.how did you like the snow? Funny you should write about it. But yes down there they will soon depart while ours will linger.

Hey, Sara Marie, I was just going through a list of names and having a good time when one of your comments said it was in the bible. Then I remembered. It seems so ironic that at this time something strange would remind me that your middle name is Marie. Anyway it was just a thought.

"Icicles drop cold liquid like tears". Nice poem. A beautiful line. I like the strong metaphoric expression that is used in this poem.
