Summertime Symphony
I’m listening to a symphony
Of raindrops overhead
A haunting melody
Played in grey drops instead
Muted sounds coat this place
Upon grasses tall and green
Golden frilly fronds do gleam
First the pat….pat…patty…pat
Of the plump big drops
Sliding down the rooftops
Beside the pit…pitty..pit…splat
Random leaf sputter sound
Hitting the dampened ground
Then along comes the deep base
Bob~bobbity~bob off the cedar
Hitting branch and roof
Cacophony of sounds softly spoof
A tune Bach would surely meter
I was glad no cymbals came to clash
As the lightening never glowed
Nor did partner thunder ever show
Just a gentle falling symphony
A summertime sprinkle harmony
