Summertime Sick Blues

verse 1]
So my man
tells me
after midnight
last night
he has a fever
and its not for me

its a proper fever
and he is hot you see

So I try to zip off
to the 24 hour store
which is closed naturally..
they close it for
an hour and half
right when I try to drop in
in the middle of the night...

How fun is that?

[sassy instrumental interlude]

[verse 2]
and then I realize...
I have it too...

The creeping crud with fever
has managed to climb on board for two

We don't really want to eat
I slept like a dead thing
Woke up sweaty
all head achey
not congested (thank gawd)

[pre-chorus]
but holy cow...
why this now?!
glooey eyes...

[chorus]
Its summertime blues
that not quite a cold
my nose does run
feverish, tired

joints all achy
Muscles feel weak

an no appetite
not interested to eat

[epic solo]

[verse 3]
Summer time blues
take me away
Its sunny outside
no time for a sick day

I have things to do
chores to be done
but instead I am ordering fast food
for pick up
and medicine delivered
to get over this sick up

hate this now..

[chorus]
Its summertime blues
that not quite a cold
my nose does run
feverish, tired

joints all achy
muscles feel weak

an no appetite
not interested to eat

[outro]

the only bonus of the day
more snuggle in bed
time with my man
as he hacks away

We laid down for a bit
cuddled a bunch

and then I ran off and got him lunch

now its back to bed I think...
nap time
as energy saps time

whip this virus
cause it stinks...

it stinks!

an energy sink...

[musical outro]
