Summertime

Yellow sun
Drip summer into the thirsty mouth of June
Fill the cold sands of December with your warmth
For bare feet of winter babies, April lovers
And those who may not see another Spring

Give them the healing blossoms from the
Pink apple trees, and bobbing heads of daffodils
Drink in glorious June and never look back
Until the leaves of a cruel October surrender to winter
