Summers Rain

Within these clouds
Holds the rain
Holds the memories
Even holds some pain

Days like these
Nights from before
Time for freedom
Just open the door

Down comes the flood
One by one
Never say never
Till the rain is done

Every drop is
A moment in time
As the memories race
Throughout my mind

They take me back
To a summer ago
Where time went fast
When we wanted it slow

The smell of the beach
The taste of the sea
In that moment
Where I want to be

The stars are alive
I’m holding your hand
Fire in your eyes
Our feet in the sand

These are the moments
That means so much
Our lips in the rain
As they gently touch
