Summer Warmth Lento

Greet the heat with a smile Meet all your summer dreams Eat some corn and watermelon Treat yourself to ice creams Drink some homemade lemonade Think of cool blue seas Blink and suddenly, summer is over Sink into melancholy

Reminds me of a song by the Doors. I think the title is "Summer's Almost Gone". It passes all too quickly - but the fall is a nice, cool season. Peace & Blessings Matthew Anish

Ahh, hot summer indeed. Now in August we are really feeling it. Good job.\ Thanks for your comments on my turtle poem. I tried to comment on your poem Where is Caylee, but for some reason it wouldn't accept it. I hope they find the perpetrator.

Yes, this is the one I referred to in the email. How funny what you said about the tit. No, I didn't form the etheree to look that way. That's how all etherees end up looking if they are not centered! Also, that would be the tit of a cow with plastic surgery. hahaha

Everyone's complaining how hot they are over here. Yes, so true - it'll soon be back to being cold! Insightful piece, Susan

i really liked this one, Susan you sure set up the contrast here so well, like how you started this with that smile then ended it by sinking-- very effective write-- about my friend write, I am sorry to hear that you know the feeling right now-- such a sad & frustrating thing to lose a friend, I do hope though that she pops back in and says hi... :)

Ah, move to Florida, Susan, and summer will last for nine months. I love your writing style and really enjoyed your description of these summer activities. Love, Carolyn

Susan, I am thinking more and more that you are MUCH like me!! I have a kyrielle in one of my chapbooks named Summer Dreams and I discuss a lot of this same stuff in kyrielle form in that poem!! So naturally I LOVE this one. Do you do many "form" poems? How long have you been writing!
