Image of Sunset at Grand Bay, Mauritius

Summer Sunset

gold light hits the grass
long shadows stretch on the lawn~
the day starts to pass

red fire in the clouds
pink petals drift on the wind~
trees are veiled with shrouds

pink turns to purple
stars wait for their turn to shine~
night comes to settle

sun sinks out of sight
quiet fills the empty space~
rest rolls with delight.

soft moon starts to rise
Silver light waltzes on lake
Peace now greets the eyes.

Hi Krish. For me this would look great labeled as Ekphrasis. I wonder if photos work as that form! Pretty poem

Thank you dear poetess for appreciating the above poem and sugesting the possibility of labelling it as Ekphasis. I wonder whether it would be accepted as Ekphasis as the latter describes (with comments) a painting, while the poem paints the image of the setting sun over a short lapse of time and not a static image. Anyway, that is my personal view. Wishing you a bright upcoming weekend.

Loved how the poem paints the sky’s colors shifting perfectly with the calm vibe, it’s like watching time slow down in the best way. Super soothing and vivid!
