Summer Splash

As I bask in the warmth
of the sun,
hear the children
play and run,
I lie still and see
Butterflies and ladybugs
flying quietly by me
to join in the Summer Splash.

 Shouts of joy and
excitement bring me
 to my senses;
The thrill of teenagers
and surfer boys
shouting Ahoy!
I sit up and focus
my sunglass’ lenses.
There, I see them, and no
longer able to ignore
the fun to be had, I
Join in the beach
 volleyball game
On the shore!
Time to enjoy a Summer Splash!
