Summer Seashore Treasures

summer seashore treasures

summer rocky beach
seashells hide in frothy tides -
  barnacles scrape knees

basket filled with gifts
sea life gone now but lives on -
  treasures of the sea

Your summer seashore imagery shimmers in this pair of haiku, Sam. Exuberant yet wistful - heartfelt balance of time come and gone - just lovely! Warmest wishes always, my dear friend.. ~Susan

I love looking for shells. I especially love the nautilus and Percy's poem - "build thee more stately mansions, o my soul." Your gracious message lifts my heart and encourages me. It is special. Thank you, dear friend and poet in crime - er - rhyme! Sending you bunches of blessings and a hug!

Sam, your poem is so lovely. That's right! When we have to leave the shore, we can take a basket of mementoes with us! Janice
