Summer Rainfall
Caught in a summer rainfall,
split second moment, easy recall;
Thoughts hazy with humidity
in the air, so much electricity;
Thunderstorm trying to engage
a local band and an outdoor stage;
Hoping for a bit of a distraction
sipped my drink, instant explosion;
Gripped tighter, held onto my glass,
a flash quickly followed by a crash;
Caught your eyes at the same time,
It wasn’t the thunder that shook the sky;
Split second moment, easy recall,
caught in a summer rainfall.
