Summer Rain Storm
Summer Rain Storm / ( Spencerian Stanza Competition )
A sense of expectation filled the air.
We walked through balmy sheltered forest glade.
My love for him I gladly did declare,
His glance descended ; no response was made.
And empathetic nature felt betrayed.
Beneath the darkened mood of clouds in chase
Familiar eyes now mere regret displayed .
His love had disappeared without a trace,
And summer rain poured down upon my tear-stained face.
