Summer Pull
Out of my tower, I stood there and stared
Beyond my framed windowpane, further ahead.
On a beautiful day, my palms to the glass
I looked out to the ocean, of which nothing could surpass.
This view of great clarity and rich in great wealth
A vision so calming applauded by my health.
It pulled me and pushed me with desire and part fear
So thankful to be up here but how I pined to be near.
The waves grew so silently, then crashed with immense gust
Once low tide and now high tide
Oh, to step through it I must...
I ran out the door, down the stairwell so steep
Through an old vineyard of grapes and onto the beach.
My toes touched the white sand, so warm and so soft
This is what life is, it's set for one's heart.
Closer drew the salted droplets yearning for me
We are the moon, the sand and the sea.
Without a thought or any hesitancy
I dropped into the ocean
Oh, how I felt free...
