Summer Nap

The grass is green
the sky is blue
I slip into a dream
as I think of you

warm sun
beats down on my face
day is done
time to retreat to a special place

Your hair catches the wind
eyes glimmer in the sun
reminding me of places I have been
all of the fun

I attempt a kiss
and reality I met
This dream I miss
the sun has set

Such a shame
To be rudely awoke
who can I blame
Not a word was spoke

Try to regain sleep
but it is to late
can't catch a wink
time to call for a date
