Summer Music

SUMMER MUSIC

                    a morning bird
             singing in a poplar tree
                comments endlessly


                  her happy chatter
        riding a warm southern breeze
                  has no winter in it


                   prelude to rapture
              spring’s brief recitative
            then sweet summer music
