Summer Memory
I have many Summer memories,
to which I can relate!
But, as I think back, one stands out.
One, I think was really great!
Our longtime wish, to visit Ireland,
was finally coming true!
My wife and I, and our two best friends,
decided, that's what we'd do!
We made our plans and packed our bags,
and departed from New York!
We sat down in Dublin,
next day headed down to Cork!
We did some touring on the way,
to sites, much lesser known.
But, our main goal, above all else,
was to kiss the Blarney Stone!
We went to Blarney Castle,
at the earliest visiting hour,
to find the "Stone of Eloquence"
which is located, in the tower!
We had to lay down on our backs,
and stretch, which was slightly hairy!
An attendant, held us by the hand,
cause the height, was a little scarey!
Kissing the stone, made it all worthwhile!
I'll be lost for words, no more!
This is a favorite Summer memory,
from, July, 1984!
NOTE: Blarney Castle is located in
County Cork, Ireland. A Stone of
Eloquence is located in the castle
tower. Legend has it that, if you
kiss the stone, you'll never be lost
for words!
