Summer Lit Happiness...

the flapping sailboat blanket hovers for a second in the air
as you lay it on the picnic grass

we don't say much but the wind seems to speak softly
as its runs over the field and past

the firework willow quietly weeps over our laughs
that we constantly exchange

and I reach for the animal shaped clouds but
they seem to be just out of range

we both just lay with the bright sun highlighting
our pale wintered skin

and tilting our heads towards each other, we squint
as we share our first summer grin
