Summer Is Here

Clouds in the sky drift lazily
Sparkling patches of blue linger,
Mind daydreaming so hazily
Songbirds chirping a moodswinger,
Summer is here
A time for cheer.

Evening sounding so jazzily,
Recording of a scat singer
Distant stars twinkle snazzily,
I am an accomplished swinger
Have no complaints,
And few restraints.

L Milton Hankins June 2, 2022 at 10:00 AM Actually, it was "humdinger," but I learned that didn't rhyme, so I looked through a list of rhymes and found "moodswinger" which worked just as well. Maybe better.

Not really, but I do know how to have fun, Jenna. "Scat" is a form of singing made most popular by Jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald. I think maybe Sammy Davis Jr., as well, and a few more imitators that don't come readily to mind. I hope Emile knows what it is!

Well, I'll put in an order and see how it goes. We had a very, very wet spring, so I'm delighted to see these hot days. The last time I was in England/Wales/Scotland the only warm, not-so-dreary day we had was in Lockerbie. I thought that was very unusual.
