Season of bliss and golden sun, And strolls along the hot beach, Among myriad other feverish fun; Lazy sunsets like a ripe peach. Violet nights out at the ballet, And picnics in the wild places, And sundry large, exotic bouquet, Blush scent traces from big vases! Diamond stars wink at twilight, Emerald grass kisses bare feet; Butterflies flutter in delight, To taste floral nectar so sweet! Desperate shadows flee ruddy sun, And roses sleep in night gardens; Eager orchards bear ripe plums, And crickets beg no one's pardon! Black magic is the velvety dark, Red ember of the lushness of day; Fireflies flit the slumbering park, After torrid sun has left its mark.

I love summer. "Diamond stars wink at twilight, Emerald grass kisses bare feet; Butterflies flutter in delight, To taste floral nectar so sweet!" made me love your poem also! I want to run outside right now and see my emerald grass but it is dark out and I live in the woods with lots of creatures who are low to the ground in evenings.

I am so glad the words of my poem resonated with you, Caren. One of the things that I love about poetry is that it makes you just stop what you're doing and enjoy the beauty of the world around you! Thanks for your inspiring comments.
