Season of bliss and golden sun,
And strolls along the hot beach,
Among myriad other feverish fun;
Lazy sunsets like a ripe peach.
Violet nights out at the ballet,
And picnics in the wild places,
And sundry large, exotic bouquet,
Blush scent traces from big vases!
Diamond stars wink at twilight,
Emerald grass kisses bare feet;
Butterflies flutter in delight,
To taste floral nectar so sweet!
Desperate shadows flee ruddy sun,
And roses sleep in night gardens;
Eager orchards bear ripe plums,
And crickets beg no one's pardon!
Black magic is the velvety dark,
Red ember of the lushness of day;
Fireflies flit the slumbering park,
After torrid sun has left its mark.
