Summer Days

The summer days were hot, We cooked crabs in the big metal pot. Then baking the best creamy chocolate cupcakes, With tons of wonderful coconut flakes. Off to the park to eat we must go, Oh please do not say no. I long for the days of old, The days when we could both be bold. The days when my Aunt, Was hugged and told. I love you forever and ever, That could have knocked her over like a heavenly feather. 7/8/2019

You say much in this lovely poem! First line is perfect! Yummy food, not ordinary but descriptive! I can savor it from here! And then don’t say no to looking back, going to a perfect place…a perfect memory! Glad I found this one! Fave!

Hi Paula! After reading all your poems, I see that you do love writing free verse poems; and I loved each and every one of them. You have a clever way with words and I hope you are enjoying yourself in this community. Explore the site 'cause there's a lot to learn here (maybe even explore other forms of poetry you may want to try your hand on). Looking forward to reading your future works :D
