Summer
The air is thick
with familiar sounds and scents.
There is no question
of where winter went.
Summer skips and dances over spring
ready for all nature to grow and sing.
Feathered birds fly near and close
to sing and nest within the rose.
A joyous, happy melodic song
grateful that cold winter is gone.
They dance at the morning sun rise
unafraid and glad to have survived.
Floating on the summer light breeze
they arrive in time for the fullness of the trees.
Their song is endless, clear and sincere
as they come into the garden here.
Each bird and plant provide a colorful display
welcoming the start of each summer day.
