Suicidal Tendencies
I battled with suicide, for many years,
the pain, the suffering, with all of it’s tears.
A heart chained, to the bitterness and strife,
in so deep, I had given up on life.
From all these thoughts, feelings, and emotions, I could not flee,
it was like death, was the answer for me.
I totaled three cars, a side of a house, then snapped a telephone pole,
as death fled from me, there was a battle for my soul.
My brother drowned, I was there, but him, I couldn’t save,
something happened deep inside, ungodly I started to behave.
I slashed my arm many times with a razor blade,
as I laid on the floor, the light began to fade.
I cursed God, with my every breath,
it should have been me, taken away by death.
I remember the anger, the hate, all the torment and pain,
as it ripped and tore, at my twisted, wounded brain.
With a heart fueled of hate, I was already dead,
it was living like this, I did truly dread.
To die many deaths, and to yet still live,
it’s the only answer, that suicide can give.
I have faced death, many times, by my own hands you see,
today, I truly live, because Jesus set me free.
I was un-lovable, an outcast, a black sheep, I was thrown away,
but by the Grace and Mercy of God, He loved, and wanted me enough, to show me the way.
