Sugarfree
The old sermons of fire and brimstone, funny they no longer exist
Taking away things not wanting to be known, adding a new twist
Of course the Lord loves everyone but in the end you must believe
For those that don't know the Son are the same who will so grieve
Soon the sugarcoating grew thinker as their glass house crumbled
Amongst each other we'd bicker as now the ball has been fumbled
They got away from the heart of the matter and what Jesus said
As He had said right from the start without Him your soul is dead
The lake of fire sounds pretty stern definitely a type fire He'd state
A punishment no one can discern for even one mark on your slate
Like a small child too near the fireplace as you yell out instinctively
So it should be with God's Grace for so many will never get to see
It was Jesus who said hell's path is wide His is much more narrow
It's imperative that each one abide in the One who knows each sparrow
Saying "I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish"
Clearly you can see what Jesus meant has nothing to do with what you wish
Psalms 11:6
Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone,
and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.
And Psalms is always so upbeat...
