Suffer the Little Children

Cry for all the children
With no one to take their hand
No walks along the beach
With their toes dug in the sand

Cry for all the children
Who have no beds to sleep
They rest beneath the stars
And nightly gently weep

Cry for all the children
With no food to fill their bowls
Empty cups fill their hearts
Only hunger feeds their souls

Cry for all the children
With no schools to sate their mind
Starved for education
But rejection's all they find

Cry for all the children
Who are touched against their will
Their wounds remain well hidden
But their scars remain there still

Cry for all the children
Who have nothing good to say
Their hopes and dreams are shattered
We see more of them each day

It is heart breaking what some children go through every day. Your poem brings to light the tragedy that exists. Blessings, Kim M
