Stupid For Cheating

There’s nothing right in my left brain
And nothing left in my right
Which might help to explain
Why I’m not very bright.
But that’s no excuse
For the things that I do
Just admitting I’m stupid
For cheating on you.

It doesn’t take a genius
To see what I had
Nothing but good times
Nothing was bad.
And yet I did wander
Not using the brain in my head
Being led down the wrong path
By a different organ instead.

There’s nothing right in my left brain
And nothing left in my right
Which might help to explain
Why I’m not very bright.
But that’s no excuse
For the things that I do
Just admitting I’m stupid
For cheating on you.

“Honey, I’m sorry”, doesn’t quite put it right.
And I know there’s good reason why I sleep alone tonight.
But if you could forgive me this one stupid act
I’ll make it all up to you and that there’s a fact.

There’s nothing right in my left brain
And nothing left in my right
Which might help to explain
Why I’m not very bright.
But that’s no excuse
For the things that I do
Just admitting I’m stupid
For cheating on you.

Love the poem joy. I love the flow of it and just the chorus part. While reading it in my head I started hearing it against music, so everyone one who said it sounds country I believe 'em. Anyways great write. Love Destiny

Oh, Joe, I sure would like to hear the melody to this song. Very moving lyrics. This could be a big time country hit! Love, Carolyn
