Stumbling Over Myself

I hate that what I want to say Wants to come out two different ways. “Have a good day”, “thank you for the compliment” Have a thank day. …what did I say? Is that what I meant? Stumble and bumble when my lips won’t work Sounding dumb, seeming stupid, seeing a smirk. That’s why it’s on my body. It’s written in ink. My hand captures better than my mouth what I think. I hate that what I want to say Wants to come out in different ways. I hate that what I meant to say Made me feel foolish today.
