Stuck On a Limb
Stranded on a hanging limb,
I cannot yet decide
If I should travel up or down,
If I should fall or climb
For falling seems so easy
When stuck here in this place,
And climbing, such a bother
I’d much rather not face
For maybe if choose to fall
I’ll be among my friends,
But if I keep on rising high,
I’ll know my journey’s end
The top remains still out of sight,
But not yet out of reach;
I only hope I have the strength
To climb this wretched tree
I pray that if I reach the top,
I’ll see the forest as my own,
For it would be a tragedy
To find that I’m alone.
