Struggles of a Poet
How can I write
As plain as day
But have no delight
In what you take away
I speak of the sky
A royal blue
You deep fry
My chosen hue
I struggle to say
I'm feeling pain
Your mind goes stray
My efforts are vain
I suffer through words
Bleeding in ink
You naively refer
Without a blink
You drop the ball
When I pitch a winner
A baritone, you call
When it's clearly a tenor
But what is a poet
One generating rhyme?!??
And if the reader did know it
Could it stand the test of time
I believe it should be
Thought provoking
Therefore it's clear to see
Why most are choking
So perhaps it's good
For many to question
To remain misunderstood
In the right direction
