Struck Dumb

Nobody wants to die.
But now I am old
I wonder why.

I sometimes feel very ill,
And take many prescription pills,
To help strengthen me and help me strive
To have an even longer life.

At lunch, while watching the TV
I learned something that bothered me,
A. I. artificial intelligence is coming here
I feel this will be something to fear

I know now why life feels unreal,
It's fast becoming true
If this phenomenon comes to pass
It could be the end of all we knew.

It doesn't make sense,
To this uneducated old girl
It makes me feel tense
It makes my old brain whirl.

Has the World gone wild,
Or is the Wild one me?
Why am I taking pills
To give me longevity.

Only to realise today
We will have no choice
Unreality will come to stay
And we won't have a voice.

Don't worry so much. AI will be just as stupid as we who are making it possible. I've been making payments via phone on two credit cards for 5 years now. Last 4 years I get 'AI.' Whenever I have the most routine question outside of its narrow intelligence lane, it says: 'I still don't understand your request. Try again.' After about 3 more of those maddening responses, AI transfers me to a human agent, who answers the question easily in a few seconds. The Great 'AI' unmasked, I say!

Yeah AI is everywhere now but i think its unfair if people use it to perfect their poems and win contests esp since not everyone will do it. Your poem wonders and laments in an awesome fab way. Kudos!! >>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<^^^^^^^^>>>>>>>><<<<<< Plz also read and comment my newest poem too.

All doctors seem to find solutions by giving us pills. One could give a tirade on how manufacturers are making money out of our illnesses.
