Stripped To Dust

Stripped to dust
He was,
Scarred and blurred with disgust
The stench of his errors had left him burned
Her pictures reminded him of moments shared
The feelings of her that he had earned
The favorite times spent was with her
His decapitated memories lingered her return
Her favorite song reminded him of her in tears
He wished that he had taken her limelight and prepared
What she tasted like, her breath, all she had done emerged
He promised to quit but his solutions refused to crescend

Soon all they had in common and had worked for dissolved
Eventually she left

Tired, he became numb of all what he had become
He had lost her, the very best part of himself
He got tired of living in pretense
Always lost in her limbo everywhere he went
All the places they had visited her images reappeared
To remind him of all the things she said
Her favorite colors and scenes had taken flight from heights
Where they had always been

"No next time" he thought within
His lonely mind as he sought to win.

Her pictures in his arms fueled his journey
As he gradually faded out of sight
Into the blurry hollowed arcs of the night
Leaving his soul to linger for completion
Between his echoing foot prints stripped to dust...
