Street Light

   Across the water
   The streetlight flows
   Trees undressed
   Allow the light to glow

   Saturated shadows soften
   Charging each moment
   Before the rising sun
   Water a dark ribbon
   Birds squawking softly
At the edge of my dream

   First up in the morning
To see the glory of night
   Before the sun
   Turns out the streetlight.

Dear Kim, this poem conveys a meditative appreciation of the ephemeral. I particularly like the way you painr a serene depiction of night’s quiet beauty transitioning into dawn, rich with vivid imagery and reflective tones Wonderful piece. A fave for me. Stay creative. ^__^ JCB

Thank you for your kind comments. I think it is interesting that no one else is awake at 5:30 to see the lovely night.
