Strands of Time
Strands of Time
write upon the strands of time
with dreams I hope will all endure.
My past and present can't entwine
if morrow's threads are insecure.
A thread from yesterday awaits
the tickle of the present day.
and threads of morrow welcome fate
to braid into this living fray.
The fourth dimension cannot wind
the braids within my heart and soul.
No clockwork gears can ever bind
my life within such taut control.
No hands can circle round my dreams
and choke the hope with stiff demand,
as long as Morrow's promise gleams
from dreams I've penned upon the strands.
Another year shall soon conclude
another shall rest on the throne.
While braids of Langsyne weave into
this tapestry that's mine alone.
The hourglass spills the sands of time
the Trinity of time survives,
the past is me each thread is mine
to treasure as New Year's arrives.
