Stranded

You left me for reasons unknown I was left behind... I asked, yet I was never shown So what's the point in making this rhyme? I always got lost in your eyes I hated our goodbyes I hated our lies I hated our cries And now, my spirit dies... You promised to never leave But look what you did... My heart is full of selfish grieve And may God forbid I dreamed of having children with you, We both wanted to engage I used to call you "boo" And now my heart is enraged They say "forget the past" But how can I? But according to you, this is our last Goodbye...

...and when reconciliation does happen sometimes it's just not the same, then you're stuck between that awful place of belonging again or letting go. I'm sure this poem rings true for many of us. Thx for sharing.

Yeah, JD - goodbyes can really suck. Nothing really good to say, but saying things over time demonstrates the changes that occur. Stuff gets better; other people appear. Cheers, Doug.
