i died in 1894.Best known for her carol 'In th Bleak Mid- Winter and her poem 'Remember' which starts 'Remember me when I am gone away/gone far away into the silent land/When you can no more hold me, by the hand..and concludes ...Better by far you should forget & smile/Then that you should remember & be sad.

Close to the Pre-Raphael sect
All proposals to wed,she did reject;
Her fame excels in retrospect-
A spinster,quiet,pious and chaste
Such talents were,not left to waste.

The talented Christina Rossetti
wrote carols and much poetry.
Married love elluded her,I'm afraid,
the poor lass dying as a spinster maid
