Straight Path
Straight Path
We all start off somewhere
On a path, maybe not so good,
Sometimes we don’t understand
Or see life in ways we should.
This life is full of hardships
Temptation is all around,
A lost feeling overcomes you
Only yearning to be found.
Searching for something up and down
Forgetting to look inside,
You realize that you’ve been wrong
You turn to Allah and cry.
See, some of us are lucky
We’re put on a path that’s straight,
We try so hard to please Allah
Our only savior, who’s so great.
We have a certain way of life
Which is better than the rest,
We strive to achieve a wonderful goal
Paradise- Life which comes next.
To prove our worth in faith
We are given so many trials,
I think the one who is the best
Is he who thanks Allah and smiles.
This life is nothing but a test
A short visit, a temporary stay,
Enjoining good, forbidding bad
Thanking Allah for everyday.
Each day, a chance to earn good deeds
Erasing the wrongs of our past,
Preparing for something better
The next life which will forever last.
I’m still thanking Allah each moment
For helping me find my way,
For leading me on a path that’s right
From the one that was so astray.
Everyday more grateful
That the one that past before,
Heading to an amazing place
Excited to see what’s in store.
So try your best to obey Allah
In the hereafter you will see,
The gardens of paradise is ever lasting
Allah willing, that’s where I’ll be.
