Not having done any senryu yet, just a bit of haiku, and since the lines follow the 5-7-5 (rule of thumb?), I can't tell the difference. But what I am sure the deeper meaning of this is for the reader to think about. And my mind is opening to lots of possibilities. *applause*

thankyou so much! this format is basically a japanese 'haiku' consisting of 17 syllables and is new to me as well but I rather enjoy them as they are generally more satiracle, where as the traditional haiku is generally about nature. the senryu is typically a clever, blunt and brief observation about human nature, society etc. which is right in line with what I generally write about.
