Storm

A road to nowhere led by a twisted maze
A fog of light
With a blinding haze

A lite drizzle quickly turning into hail
Attempting to catch my breath
Forgetting to inhale

The storm washes away the salty tears
Leaving only rain drops behind
Helping me hide all my fears

Walking between shadows trying to hide
I hear a faint echo of laughter
Reminding me of the tears I had cried

Haunted by memories that refuse to go away
I turn to God to help me
But he doesn’t respond when I pray

I stand before you smiling as I am dying inside
Pretending not to be affected
But unable to despite every attempt that I tried

The black clouds followed me throughout the years
Emoticons silenced by the rain
But it’s not the rain falling it is my tears
