Stories into Life
When Dad tells stories, the room fills with light,
The funniest man, our dear delight.
He sprinkles joy of the purest kind.
And even calms my restless mind.
My room was Heaven, my creative bay,
And the mirror, my friend, taught me the way.
Being my dad, yet in ways all mine.
I ease concern, by wild design.
I draw, write, and throw myself downstairs,
To live the life that laughter cares.
Always saying I’m funny, not weird.
Born for the path my Dad once feared.
At home he has a heart so free,
Although a tie is all you see.
One day I’ll show the world his grin,
And let his fire shine from within.
My dad made the world feel wide,
A place where stories lived inside.
And once bitten by that drive,
I found my route, my call in life.
