Stopping the Cycle
A little girl lays crumpled
Alone on a cold floor
No blanket no pillow
What a sad little soul
Mommy beaten up
All black and blue
She lays on a couch
In the next room
Her daddy the culprit
With a temper and no booze
His addiction to alcohol
Controls his next mood
A family in crisis
But no one to help out
A cycle continues
Dear God it must stop
Pick up these boken pieces
Please put them into place
Show them the way to beat this
Is through your nuturturing grace
Give them belief
In your holy soul
So all of this heartbreak
They can finally let go
