Stop Searching With Your Eyes Wide Shut
God has a way of coming to you
In your moments of despair
God has a way of revealing things
Of which you aren't even aware
Stop searching with your eyes wide shut
There's no reason for hostility
For when you're mad you're blinded by anger
And may run into a tree
Blinded by hate, blinded by anger
Or blinded by jealousy as well
Overcome with so much ego and emotions
Your head will blow up and swell
Overwhelmed with ego and emotions
You think you can walk on water that's
Just a puddle on the ground
So much ego and emotions you think
You're better than anything and anyone around
Searching with your eyes wide shut
To petty to give God the glory
And you wonder why the churches are empty
Let me tell you a story
Impatient is that human trait
That stops a blessing in its tracks
Unwilling to wait for God to come in
And gift you with whatever you lack
Now Abraham and Sarah two people of God
Who couldn't understand
That when God has a destiny for you
Its not good to mess with His plans
So they plotted to gain a son
By some other means
But then God gave Sarah a son
And now she wants to preen
Now blinded by jealousy and greed
She sent that boy and his mother away
But let me tell you that the Lord God
Will have the last say
And that son who was sent away
Became a leader of Arab nations
And the son that Sarah had
Brought about eternal confrontation
So be careful of the mess you start
For it come back and bite you in the a**
Don't rush God's plans and promises
For you just do whatever He ask
Now Hagar and her son went away
With limited provisions
But when God heard the child's thirsty cries
He made a critical decision
Hagar's eyes were made wide open
No longer was she searching with eyes shut
A well of water she finally did see
No ifs, no ands and no buts
So stop trying to handle life's situations
All on your own
Just be patient and wait for the promises
That come from the Heavenly Throne
For when God makes you a promise
Just act like He's done it before
Stop searching with eyes wide shut
Just wait for God to open up doors
