Stop Gazing
Why stand with eyes fixed on the sky above,
While hearts grow weary and forget God's love?
The angels asked, "Why do you stand and gaze?"
When Christ has called us to more fruitful days.
The world distracts with sorrow, fear, and strife,
Yet Jesus is the Author of our life.
Look not beneath where passing shadows stay,
But fix your eyes on Christ, the Truth, the Way.
The signs unfold—wars, disasters, fear—
Yet every moment tells His coming's near.
This world is fading, fleeting as the dew;
Our lasting home is waiting, bright and true.
Why gain the world and lose your priceless soul,
When Christ alone can cleanse and make you whole?
Hold lightly all that time will one day claim;
Seek heaven's treasure, live to praise His name.
So stop your gazing—rise and boldly go;
Let all the world the love of Jesus know.
The risen Savior conquered death and sin,
And soon will come His faithful ones to win.
This same dear Jesus shall return again;
Till then proclaim salvation's joyful reign.
Point every heart to hope that will endure,
For Christ is coming soon—and in Him we are secure.
