Stones In My Shoes
STONES IN MY SHOES
the perpetual motion
of the last few days
gained too much momentum
to stop standing still
so i venture out
in the blackest of nights
but it's nothing different
than the darkness i live in
stones in my shoes
penetrating my souls
but onward i march
with no second to spare
i took all the wrong roads
i took all the long roads
and even though i maybe late
i'll be so much stronger than the shortcuts
when i walked out tonight
there was no destination
but my incorrigible strides
somehow brought me to your door
in the metronome of my footsteps
i found the greatest songs
so i thought i would stop by
to scream them in your face
buried myself alive
beneath the stars and sky
and as i turned away i sang
goodbye. goodbye.
