Stone Reflection

Carved from stone; the lover of despair Gilded by a loss that left her dead So alone in the arms she forged Crafted from the pain that left her there Enchantments gone, the disillusioned watch All feeling left in graveyards on the sun There’s no one left, each face has turned to dust Her desire for delusion makes her run The golem wakes, he moves to hear her speak But she runs away and leaves him in the night The golem fades, the distance breaks the spell The seal upon the stone gives way to sight Far away; the child of despair All alone in life; the golems curse She turned away after creating this And now the stone that crumbles off gives way to thirst Into rain; the fleshly golem walks Quivering with knowledge and repair Now he breathes through sight and soundly air Until the love that he has found becomes despair He carves the stone, crafts her face again He gilds the one that left him far behind Now alone, the golem sees himself The mirror made of stone for all time
