Stone Cold

I walked through the winter
In a world of discontent
Felt the stares and the hatred
Of everyone I met
With each new day came more pain
And bitter loneliness
As buildings burn
I wait my turn
For the exit up ahead
To download my nightmares
And see you again

Burned and destroyed by your lies and your games
Yet returned from the ashes
Like a phoenix from the flames
Flying higher and higher
So I couldnt see your smile
My hearts cold like a stone

Did I do somthing wrong
Did I scare you away
Did I raise my hand and hurt you
Like you did to me today
You did alway get your way
No matter what the cost
But you cost a man his mind, his life
But gave him a broken heart

Burned and destroyed by your lies and your games
Yet returned from the ashes
Like a phoenix from the flames
Flying higher and higher
So I couldnt see your smile
My hearts cold like a stone
