Stolen Bliss

kisses from a fantasy
moments of stolen bliss
cold nights that still haunt you
when you dream back on this

memory betraying feeling
in the hole where buried deep
when you explored the options
and out the sieve it seeps

trying to piece it together
trying to find the missing link
but it all won't reassemble
no matter how hard you think

the very things that attract you
oppression that holds you back
salvation eludes your conscience
as your soul falters from attack

the bridge that led to tomorrow
the smoke still in the air
thinking of never returning
now stranded with nothing to share
