The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

Still Me

When I was first around her I showed her true care
if you're scared to speak look at me I'm there
when you're outnumbered back you up we'll pair
I'll protect you from harm anytime anywhere

when she was beaten down feeling mentally bruised
sat alone on the wall down the end confused
I wandered over try and pick up her mood
times she was happy she’d raise the roof

I sat there with her awhile she let out her mind
said she felt at her lowest after treated unkind
so I told her honestly what I thought to be kind
said you're a diamond rare personality to find

but her bloke had anger she was never spared
thought this unfair let her know someone cared
talking alone grew trust respect and we shared
I'd always protect her when she felt scared

walked her around when she got her first takeaway
it was never a problem to go out my way
it was so sweet how she was nervous on the way
let her know I'll take lead if not sure what to say

We were only ever friends, best, like brother and sister
she's not in my life now it's sad and I've missed her
true care creates love I don't need to be her mister
once something so great now a mental blister

no one else cared for me but she always seemed too
lost my job as friends true colours shone through
showed how you’re treated when they care for you
was my best friend once but now thinks I'm delude

I'm writing this to deal with the fact I don't see you
I wish you all the best may blessings be with you
wonder if you think of me doubting you do
I wish you were here I will always miss you
