Still
Still as the evening approached I can feel you here,
After all these years the memory of your voice I still hear.
There was a time you were more than just a memory,
But also that was a long time ago and I was only sixteen.
As I close my eyes I feel your hand reach out to me,
With a gentle caress you reached over and touched my cheek slowly.
As your lips brushed across mine
At that moment everything came to a stop even time.
Yet like I said that was a long time ago ,
When I foolishly let you go.
And as your memory haunts the shadows of my mind,
I know one day there will be for us another place another time.
We’ll meet again and I’ll place your hand in mine.
You'll say those words I longed to hear yet you never could say
But this time you’re back here with me and forever more will stay.
