Stickers

The teacher store sold stickers Which I often did employ On students’ compositions To add just a little joy. A smiley face, a yellow star Or glowing words of praise Were the tools I used to soften All the errors of their ways. But now that I’m retired I’m still stickering, although It is now done with my grandchild And she loves her stickers so! She has quite a huge collection So she’s free to use her mind To create artistic scenes With all the stickers she can find. Her grandpa and her nana (me!) Join her, but please don’t mock For we stick with her for hours Never feeling sticker shock!

A sweet poem with an even sweeter ending, Ilene. My g'daughter and I enjoy sticker collections; many of them are a source of knowledge. School colored stickers and stars were an encouragement to many students (I've still got some packets from my teaching years!). Best regards // paul

My granddaughter also had an overwhelming sticker collection, which escaped me. Shouldn't children be drawing instead of sticking? Still shocked! Aloha! Rico

What a delightful time you must have with your grandy doing stickers! A wonderful write, ilene, i love, love, love the way you ended it. I just found out you can use stickers on facebook!
