Stepping Stones

Nothing in life comes easy
when you miss that stepping stone
falling to the ground skinning bone
stinging skin with shattered thought
crippled walk hurt and bruised
everything to lose in personal defeat
weary mind worn
heart tattered and torn
inner strength to move ahead
can't go on.

Nothing in life comes easy
when you miss that stepping stone
believe and never quit you can't go wrong
standing on solid ground
each step bringing you closer to your destined path
smoothing out rocky road
hearts and minds heal with the right feel
determined to move on to every new destination
staying strong.
