Step Away From Yesterday
I don't know where the time goes,
I'm looking down a path to yesterday.
Thinking of the decisions that were once made,
Wondering how things could have been.
Spending time thinking of the past, letting the future drift away.
Living today, thinking of yesterday
Reliving every decision that was ever made
Trying to decide if life could have turned out a different way
As I close my eyes and I think,
I get lost in my dreams and nightmares of yesterday.
Would I be alive?
Would I be in love?
Would I be happy?
There are so many questions
I continue to search for answers
I really must find a true link,
Between the visions in my dreams,
And what I see today.
Living today, thinking of yesterday
Reliving every decision that was ever made
Trying to decide if life could have turned out a different way
I have never completely left the past
Enough time has been spent on days gone by
Now I must enter the present day
and forget about the mistakes that were once made
I need to step forward in the present day
And tomorrow will be can truly on the way
